Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic finance partner working closely with People Experience and Technology leadership
- Design and maintain comprehensive financial metrics reports and dashboards that drive critical business decisions
- Lead core planning processes including quarterly estimates and multi-year financial forecasts
- Collaborate with senior business leaders and cross-functional finance teams
- Conduct sophisticated cost-benefit analyses and communicate key financial drivers
A day in the life
Your day will be a blend of collaborative analysis strategic planning and impactful storytelling. Youll dive deep into financial data crafting compelling narratives that help senior leaders understand complex business dynamics. From developing sophisticated financial models to presenting nuanced recommendations youll translate numbers into strategic guidance.
About the team
We are a collaborative and innovative finance team dedicated to understanding and supporting Amazons People Experience and Technology organization. Our work goes beyond traditional financial reporting - were strategic partners who provide critical insights that drive organizational decision-making. We value intellectual curiosity strategic thinking and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts with clarity and impact.
- 5 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- 6 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6 years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 6 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- Bachelors degree in engineering statistics or business or Bachelors degree and 5 years of quantitative role (engineering process re-engineering quality assurance) experience
- 6 years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6 years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models analysis and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g. financial savings operational improvements or customer benefits) experience
- MBA or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting budgeting and variance analysis and data interpretation of results
- Experience communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
