EIPS is recruiting a temporary full-time (1.0 FTE)French READ Teacher and Language Proficiency Lead with our Support for Students department.
Supports for Students is located at the Trillium Centre 121 Crimson Drive Sherwood Park. Central administration is comprised of eight departments in addition to the Board of Trustees. The departments include Education Executive Communication Services Facility Services Student Transportation Human Resources Financial Services Supports for Students and Information Technologies. Supports for Students provides services for the division in a variety of areas including curriculum assessment pedagogy and educational technology.
The successful applicant who is a continuous teacher with EIPS will be able to return to their current school/position for the 2026-27 school year.
This position will be a French and English speaking teacher to work with at-risk students in multiple EIPS schools in Sherwood Park Ardrossan and Fort Saskatchewan. The teacher will work directly with students providing pull-out French literacy intervention support for students in grades 2 as part of the READ program. The teacher will work with consultants in co-planning as well as the development and delivery of lessons. This position will require travel; mileage will be compensated.
This position will also facilitate professional development for EIPS staff in French Immersion with French Language proficiency to support learning in the classroom. The teacher will lead the implementation of a professional learning plan for our French Immersion schools. The successful candidate will also collaborate with our elementary curriculum team to ensure the content is set up for French Immersion schools.
The READ program is an intensive intervention program designed to provide direct support to Grade 2 French Immersion students identified as having reading disabilities. Travel will be required.
