The Role
Were looking for a talented and passionate Producer to join our team and help shape Awaye!a program focusing on Indigenous arts and culture. Working under general direction and alongside the Presenter youll create compelling audio content to attract retain and build audiences across ABC platforms.
Youll plan research and produce pre-recorded program material for national radio audiences ensuring it reflects the richness and diversity of Indigenous culture. Youll line up guests and talent write accurate and engaging scripts introductions and interview questions and create original online content for websites and social media.
Supporting the Presenter with editorial and presentation feedback will be part of your day-to-day as will promoting ABC values and adhering to workplace policies and safety standards.
About You
To succeed youll bring accomplished skills in creating contemporary radio and online content under tight deadlines sound editorial judgment and a strong understanding of ABC Radio Nationals role and target audience.
Youll be proficient in digital broadcast systems and thrive as a positive member of a small team. Most importantly youll have a demonstrated passion for sourcing and creating authentic content that represents Australias broad diversity including First Nations perspectives. Knowledge of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultures and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous communities is essential.
