Job Summary
A friendly primary school in Ealing is seeking an enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to take up post from January 2026. The Year 2 Teacher will deliver sequenced lessons that develop secure phonics reading comprehension and early mathematical reasoning. The appointed Year 2 Teacher will attend pre-term planning and induction prior to January 2026 and will begin teaching in January 2026.

Year 2 Teacher to join a supportive phase with strong CPD
The Year 2 Teacher will contribute to curriculum design lead targeted interventions and work with TAs to ensure every pupil in Ealing is supported to meet their next steps. As Year 2 Teacher you will also take part in parental engagement and enrichment activities.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver sequenced Year 2 lessons that combine explicit instruction with purposeful practice.
- Run guided-reading phonics and maths groups to address gaps and extend understanding.
- Use assessment evidence to shape tutoring and small-group approaches within Ealing.
- Support transition and enrichment activities and maintain strong homeschool communication.
- Keep accurate records of progress and contribute to moderation cycles.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with KS1 experience and a track record of strong Year 2 practice.
- Excellent phonics knowledge assessment skills and the ability to adapt resources for diverse learners.
- Collaborative reflective and ready to start January 2026 in Ealing.
