We (Starr & Associates) are seeking a capable and adaptable software engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience for an 12-month project starting in January 2026. This role involves upgrading components in framework applications including migrations to SQL 2019 and updates to SSRS 2019. You will be working with technologies like Serilog and MassTransit/RabbitMQ and addressing web application vulnerabilities. This position requires participation in agile team ceremonies and proficiency with a tech stack that includes Angular Bootstrap Entity Framework and Azure DevOps. Ideal for someone keen on technology upgrades application security and Agile methodologies.

Whats in store:

12 Month Project starting in January 2026

Rate: $45.00 - $55.00 (Contractor)

Must be located in the United States and able to work Eastern Standard Time

100% Remote

40 hours a week

Upgrade and improve existing .NET framework applications

Migrate databases to SQL 2019 and reports to SSRS 2019

Implement components like Serilog MassTransit/RabbitMQ

Address vulnerabilities identified through penetration testing and code analysis

Develop in Microsoft C# and SQL Server TSQL

Follow technical standards and contribute to unit testing plans

Support project team tasks and communicate any obstacles

Technical Competencies Sought:

Proficiency in .NET Framework (Webforms MVC WebApi)

Skills in front-end technologies: Angular AngularJS Bootstrap JQuery

Familiar with Entity Framework

Familiar with RabbitMQ

Experience with SQL Server SQL Server Reporting Services

Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices

Familiar with

Familiar with Progress Telerik/Kendo controls
Familiar with Microsoft Copilot/ AI

Good problem solving interpersonal communication (oral & written) work ethic and dependable

Education & Experience Sought:

Bachelors Degree

3-5 years of related experience

Agile Scrum methodologies familiarity
