The Role:

You will lead a team of Production Process Coaches the Quality/Dimensional Engineers and production team members to drive a culture of excellence focus and collaboration. You will foster a positive culture through Servant Leadership and lead though example for all those you work with. Your shifts success will depend on your ability to ensure production schedules and quality targets are achieved across the department. You will deliver all department scorecard objectives own processes and ensure standardization across the department. Continuous improvement inventory management interdepartmental communication and driving the Ford Production System as a change agent will be core also be functions in this role.



Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Maximize department effectiveness to improve productivity and quality.
  • Ensure constant improvement in product quality plant competitiveness and total cost structure.
  • Develop production schedule and manage inventory levels.
  • Champion constraint analysis and coordinate activities to eliminate production bottlenecks.
  • Promote improved department safety metrics and provide resources.
  • Address department Health and Safety concerns. Enforce compliance with government industry and corporate standards.
  • Develop and implement a training strategy for all team members.
  • Teach and provide professional guidance to ensure departmental goals are achieved.
  • Coordinate resources and activities of organization to meet the production schedule within budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Lead FPS implementation.
  • Evaluate and analyze finished parts output quality and dimensional results; assign resources to improve as required.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions through the established methodology.
  • Drive the creation and coordination of work plans (downtime shutdown manage the change) and ensure the team is meeting objectives.
  • Provide necessary resources to maintain production flow and confirm critical inputs are being performed to the standards.
  • Plan dimensional and quality tasks monitor completion and effectiveness and drive improvement and coaching opportunities.
  • Plan standardized proactive and disciplined activities to improve area performance and quality processes.
  • Drive Global Operating System Management processes.
  • Achieve labour and operating budget targets.
  • Recognize and celebrate accomplishments.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelors Degree or Skilled Trades Certificate of Qualification. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).

Experience:

  • Minimum five years in manufacturing supervisory and/or Engineering and Quality roles.
  • Must be able to work all shifts; days afternoons midnights.
  • Immediate and confirmed eligibility to travel to the USA for training.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline.(Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required. )

Experience:

  • Proficiency in high-speed Class-A automotive Stamping operations.
  • Understanding of stamped panel quality and dimensional measurement.
  • Familiarity with constraint management principles.
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal capabilities.
  • Capacity to engage with all organizational personnel.
  • Comprehensive background in assembly manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient communication and problem-solving abilities including Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proven collaborative work approach.
  • Proven capability to guide empower and foster employee growth.
  • Adeptness in conflict resolution.
  • Developed analytical problem-solving and organizational aptitudes.
