Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking a Business Support Officer to provide high-level administrative support to the Director of Infrastructure & Environment.
About the Role
This role is integral to the smooth delivery of services across the Infrastructure and Environment Directorate. You will support a wide range of administrative functions including correspondence daily scheduling customer enquiries document management reporting and coordination of internal requests.
What we offer:
Full Time - (Stream A) Level 4- $77000-$82000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience) Superannuation.
- 5 weeks Annual Leave (with 17.5% Leave Loading)
- Monthly RDO (13 per year)
- Personal (Sick) Leave
- Remote Area Housing Assistance ($60 pw Renting / $90 pw Homeowner)
- Locality Allowance
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional administration assistance including correspondence typing document preparation and file management
- Schedule the Directors appointments meetings and daily activities
- Review coordinate and respond to operational requests and internal/external queries
- Screen incoming calls and direct enquiries to appropriate internal teams
- Support the Director by preparing briefings reports and related documentation
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality when working with sensitive information
- Assist with complaints follow-ups and operational matters
- Deliver high-quality administrative support to the Directorate and wider Council teams
About You:
You will be a professional detail-focused individual who thrives in a busy environment and is comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders. You will have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time-management and organisational abilities
- High levels of confidentiality discretion and professionalism
- Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office and internal systems
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in Local Government is highly regarded
Mandatory Requirements:
- Queensland General Construction Induction (Safety White Card) or willingness to obtain
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence
Desirable Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Business Administration (or similar qualification)
- Experience in Local Government or in a high-level administrative role
- Pre-employment medical (fitness for work) may be required.
