Position Overview
A healthcare facility in Syracuse is seeking Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) to support its Adult Operating Room for evening and mixed-shift coverage. This role requires strong trauma and specialty-case experience in a high-acuity surgical environment. Client name is intentionally omitted for confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Scrub for a wide range of surgical procedures including trauma ortho general ENT vascular GYN and other specialty cases.
Prepare and maintain sterile fields instruments and equipment.
Assist surgeons and operating room staff during procedures in a fast-paced trauma setting.
Ensure compliance with sterile technique safety guidelines and surgical protocols.
Participate in rotating shifts including a blend of 8-hour and 12-hour assignments every two weeks.
Function as an integral part of a multidisciplinary surgical team.
Requirements
Active CST Certification Required
Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience (within the last 4 years) Required
Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center or teaching hospital Required
Must have comprehensive scrub experience across specialties:
General surgery
Orthopedics
Trauma
Vascular
ENT
Neurosurgery
Bariatric
GU
GYN
First-time travelers accepted only if coming from hospitals of equal size or acuity.
Ability to work all required mixed shifts.
