Responsibilities
- Examine and assess ill patients and determine urgency of care.
- Order necessary tests assist with clinicsmonitor and enter lab results.
- Assist with outreach clinics.
- Patient education
- Authorizations for tests and procedures
- Patient medication refills
- Patient correspondence and phone calls
- Assistin case managementwithmultidisciplinary teams involved as necessary
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records on computer and written as needed.
- Communicate to physicians co-workers patients visitors and other departments in a professional manner.
- Accurately and promptly implement physicians orders.
- Make independent nursing judgements.
- Utilize critical thinking in making independent judgment maintains responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.
- Document patient care and patient response to nursing intervention in a clear concise legible manner according to policy/procedure.
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Experience:
- Previous clinical nursing preferred
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Current Iowa licensure in good standing to practice as a registered nurse.
- Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
Other:
- Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
