Responsibilities

  • Examine and assess ill patients and determine urgency of care.
  • Order necessary tests assist with clinicsmonitor and enter lab results.
  • Assist with outreach clinics.
  • Patient education
  • Authorizations for tests and procedures
  • Patient medication refills
  • Patient correspondence and phone calls
  • Assistin case managementwithmultidisciplinary teams involved as necessary
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records on computer and written as needed.
  • Communicate to physicians co-workers patients visitors and other departments in a professional manner.
  • Accurately and promptly implement physicians orders.
  • Make independent nursing judgements.
  • Utilize critical thinking in making independent judgment maintains responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.
  • Document patient care and patient response to nursing intervention in a clear concise legible manner according to policy/procedure.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Experience:

  • Previous clinical nursing preferred

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Current Iowa licensure in good standing to practice as a registered nurse.
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.

Other:

  • Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
