EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Valid Colorado drivers license.
Or any other combination of related education experience and training
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective: The poudre Learning Center is a science based facility serving students from D6 and the surrounding area. The students are immersed in science standards aligned with the D6 pacing guide in an outdoor environment. This position supports the site from an operational stance with site prep and fixture setup while utilizing D6 system support for maintaining the grounds and building maintenance.
Qualifications:
Ability to operate and maintain hand tools chainsaw power tools light vehicles ATV/UTV tractor (backhoe and bucket front).
Ability to back a small trailer and tow a trailer with ATV/UTV/light vehicle.
Ability to make minor repairs on grounds power equipment.
Ability to perform strenuous labor in all types of weather.
Ability to apply pesticides and weed killers.
Ability to follow and understand oral and written instructions.
Ability to follow established safety practices.
Ability to perform all functions of this position.
Essential Job Functions:
General maintenance and security tasks include: 75% of the overall Job Duties
Maintenance of grounds weed removal and management upkeep of gardens and pathways
Use of hand and motorized implements: tractor riding mower string trimming hand irrigation implements
Upkeep of property hazard reporting and repair/removal
Seasonal irrigation
Trash and waste removal
Supply inventory and replenishing
Ensure all doors and windows of buildings are closed and locked
Ensure all doors and windows of vehicles are closed and locked
Prevent theft of outdoor items with chains cables locks
Ensure gates and openings along property line are secure
Respond to signs of unauthorized fires camping vandalism
General custodial duties include: 25% of the overall Job duties
Trash removal
Interior cleaning and prep for upcoming events
Floor care vacuuming sweeping wet mop floors
Disinfecting bathrooms and kitchen areas
General maintenance light bulb replacement and high dusting
Other Duties:
Other duties include safety and hazard reporting working with staff to ensure continuity of programming and utilizing district 6 support to ensure proper maintenance of the site.
Overtime and/or flextime possible for after hours events at the site to be determined as opportunities arise
