Job Overview
The Senior Manager of Learning and Development-Healthcare is instrumental in leading the development of the academic pathway and curriculum of the new Healthcare Assistant apprenticeship as well as subsequent pathways that will be developed through the Healthcare Industry Talent Association. This position will work with industry K-12 schools and higher education institutions statewide to develop learning concepts and facilitate activities that promote student academic success in the apprenticeship pathway with the goal of students earning industry-recognized credentials. This position will work closely with the Senior Director of Workforce Development-Healthcare in developing and executing INCAP apprenticeships within the healthcare industry.
The ideal candidate will have a background in nursing AND education or learning and development as well as project management experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for workforce development and education reform.
Key Responsibilities
  • Identifying and evaluating potential partners to serve as designated inter-company training centers for the healthcare pathways and providing ongoing assessment of the partners performance in meeting INCAP standards and industry needs
  • Evaluating current educational assets throughout the state that can be leveraged within healthcare apprenticeships and identifying educational gaps where curriculum will need to be developed
  • Leading the educational design of healthcare pathways ensuring training modules are developed in alignment with healthcare industry needs
  • Developing curriculum and course content that will be embedded within healthcare apprenticeships
  • Updating curriculum and course content ongoing as standards and industry needs change
  • Implementing curriculum standards and monitoring the consistent formatting content assessment and teaching requirements of the program
  • Ensuring the INCAP healthcare apprenticeship experiences meet the standards of the Indiana High School Diploma as well as the requirements of the identified certifications
  • Engaging and building relationships with high schools colleges/universities and industry partners serving as the Healthcare Industry Talent Associations curriculum and education expert
  • Developing course and student schedules in conjunction with partners to ensure consistency in implementation across the state
  • Training and supporting instructional staff who teach within the apprenticeships
  • Partnering with other Indiana apprenticeship programs assuring course and curriculum standards are consistent
  • Working collaboratively as part of a member of the BioCrossroads and larger CICP team
  • Collaborating ongoing with internal and external partners and stakeholders and demonstrating stakeholder management
  • Contributing to other duties and tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in nursing or a related field; a masters degree is a plus.
  • Additional degree and/or equivalent years of experience in education or learning and development
  • Demonstrated experience and success in project management
  • Ability to analyze information and develop plans/solutions based on information
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a solution-focused mindset
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex projects with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for workforce development and education
