About the Role

This exciting role of Land Services Officer Agriculture will work directly with land managers within the Central Tablelands LLS region to plan implement and monitor key projects relating to agricultural productivity and sustainability. You will engage with a diverse portfolio of land managers with a range of diverse needs to provide advice and support to achieve bio secure profitable productive and sustainable primary industries in our region.

In this role you will;

  • Initiate partnerships and collaboration with stakeholders
  • Support the delivery of extension and awareness projects
  • Support the provision of information and services to strategically targeted areas
  • Work closely with all members of the agricultural services team to build capacity to support producers to manage their production systems. This includes;

- building knowledge and capacity for producers to respond to a changing climate and challenging seasonal conditions

- build awareness and adherence to animal biosecurity and welfare standards

- extension of information on managing livestock soils and pastures for profitability and landscape outcomes

- facilitating adoption of new technologies and research and development findings

- investigate options for producer demonstration sites and local trials

About You

This is an excellent personal growth and career development opportunity. We are looking for an agricultural extension professional with skills in the following areas;

  • Working experience with agricultural systems and engaging with farmers.
  • Be well informed about issues in the agricultural sector and proactively source and prepare information for communication to landholders.
  • A desire to build on your technical skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage and collaborate with people in government industry and the community and build partnerships.
  • An ability to think strategically and understand risk as it applies to farming in our region.
  • Administrative and project management skills.
  • Have a degree in agriculture rural science or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Ability and willingness to undertake a police check and medical clearance if required.
  • Have a Current NSW Class C Driver Licence.
  • Be willing to undertake regular travel within the Central Tablelands LLS region including overnight trips.
