Learning Program Manager
- Summary
Reports to: Director of Learning
Employment Status: Full-time; Exempt
- Primary Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of importance)
Accelerando Program Duties and Responsibilities:
- Embrace the Nashville Symphonys mission intention and work to take an active role to create meaningful impact for the children and adults of our community.
- Serve as primary education representative to coordinate scheduling and execution of Accelerando. Responsibilities include but are not limited to auditions recruitment of students lessons juries performances and advisory meetings.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and partner organizations to plan and execute student performance opportunities outside of the regular program schedule. These performances could include chamber music solo recitals side-by-side opportunities etc..
- Coordinate and execute master classes with guest artists.
- Collaborate with the development team in any needed fundraising grant writing and/or donor relationships relevant to the Accelerando program.
- Establish and develop relationships with the students and families to guide them through the complexities of the program.
- Establish and develop working relationships with internal constituents and with key community partners and local teaching personnel.
- Support the Learning and Community Engagement teams in communication efforts to various constituent groups and cultivate relationships with schools colleges fellow nonprofit organizations and other institutions.
- Stay informed about and participate in local and national initiatives that relate to pathway programs.
- Create text and reservation forms for all Accelerando pages on the website and update as necessary throughout the season.
- Assist in the preparation of publications and promotional materials perform routine research and compile statistical data as needed.
- Monitor and respond to our e-mail address.
- Manage and maintain the Accelerando social media platforms.
- Coordinate and manage engagement efforts with program alumni and families.
- Organize and maintain program databases manage student and program files and prepare payroll for Accelerando teachers/events.
Other Learning and Community Engagement Duties and Responsibilities:
- Together with the Learning and Community Engagement teams perform occasional programming/event duties including but not limited to; Community Concerts Young Peoples Concerts and other department programming (as needed) such as Ensembles in the Schools Sectionals School Residencies Open Dress Rehearsals Curb Concerto Competition instrument petting zoos and after-school activities.
- Assist the department in tracking data for all Learning and Community Engagement activities by updating and maintaining the department database.
- Assist in the creation of visual tools for the department such as brochures PowerPoint presentations and curricula.
- Together with the Learning and Community Engagement team assist in updating registration databases assigning seating charts booking volunteers assisting with pre- and post-event activities and assisting with attendee communication.
The duties listed above are not all-inclusive. The person in this position is expected to perform other work-related duties as assigned even though they may not be considered primary duties.

Qualifications
- Work Requirements and Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelors degree in music arts administration / management and/or education or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience.
- Experience:
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working as a music educator or performer; working knowledge of school systems.
- Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of music education music education research local education and performing arts initiatives are preferred.
- Knowledge of college and conservatory audition and application processes is preferred.
- Working knowledge of music theory and score reading is preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish or other commonly spoken languages in Middle Tennessee is preferred.
- Effective and efficient written and oral communications skills.
- Stellar organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to schedule priorities to maximize efficiency and institutional goals.
- Ability to administer multiple projects simultaneously and work under precise deadlines.
- Must be able to work under pressure and with a broad spectrum of personalities exhibiting patience and understanding.
- Knowledge of symphonic repertoire and instrumentation is preferred and integral to the position.
- Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment as a team member with a positive helpful attitude in developing creative responses and solutions to needs and issues.
- Ability to work independently and use independent judgment while keeping supervisor informed of work activity and issues.
- Ability to read analyze interpret and create complex reports and documents.
- Multi-tasking skills and the confident ability to prioritize are essential.
- Ability to maintain the strictest of confidence is essential.
