Job Summary
Position: Production Manager
Placement Type: Direct Placement
Salary: $100000-$115000
Shift: Day Shift
Location: Flint MI
Job Description:
This is a hands-on leadership role within a machining environment. The successful candidate will oversee daily production approve quality standards and lead a team of approximately 20 employees. Strong machining experience leadership ability and solid knowledge of tooling/inserts are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Approve first-piece inspections and ensure parts meet print specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Support machinists with setups changeovers and production approvals
- Lead and manage shop-floor employees to ensure productivity safety and accountability
- Perform in-process and random inspections directly on the production floor
- Manage tooling and inserts including selecting alternatives when needed
- Monitor tooling inventory order tooling and issue purchase orders to suppliers
- Coordinate daily production schedules and assign work to open machines
- Communicate production status and issues with ownership
Work Environment:
- Floor-based role with continuous shop visibility
- Daily interaction with employees and hands-on involvement in production
Job Requirements:
| Must Have 1: | 10 years of blueprint reading |
| Must Have 2: | 5 years of experience in a Managerial position |
| Must Have 3: | 10 years experience Machining |
| Must Have 4: | Proficient operating Computers |
| Must Have 5: | Experience with Purchase ordering |
| Nice to Have: | Experience with E2 Planning system (not required) |
