Kitsap Regional Library is seeking a customer-focused and technically skilled individual to join our Information Technology team as an Assistant Network & Systems Administrator. This position is a helpdesk and desktop support role providing hands-on assistance to staff with computers software and related technology. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems delivering outstanding customer service and helping others with the use of technology. Youll be part of a supportive IT team that values collaboration learning and service excellence. This position reports to the IT Manager.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under limited supervision the Assistant Network and System Administrator (ANSA) is a support resource for end-user computers peripherals network components and telephony devices throughout the library system. The ANSA provides in-depth and advanced technical support services to Kitsap Regional Library staff and addition the ANSA works on a variety of assignments associated with the management and maintenance of the librarys technology environment as well as providing support to the rest of the IT Team. Work is performed with considerable latitude for exercising judgment and initiative necessary to enable continued utilization of related systems.
This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by the Washington Public Employees Association/UFCW local 365.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Associates degree in computer technology or equivalent combination of education and experience in an enterprise environment. Experience must include installation and support of various operating systems and software packages and diagnostics and troubleshooting of both hardware and software issues.
This position occasionally visits locations throughout the county and may need to drive on library business. A valid Washington State Drivers License a safe driving record and three years driving experience are required to drive a library-owned vehicle for library business.
Experience with technology in library services is preferred.

Offers to new employees are expected to be between $28.64 and $31.29 depending on required and relevant experience and in alignment with internal equity. The full compensation range for this position is $28.64 - 39.64 per hour which includes compensation for incumbents with significant tenure at our library. This allows for growth and progression within the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

DUTIES:
- End User Support: Provide support to end users of computer and network technologies including but not limited to the following:
- Respond to end-user support needs submitted through the Help Desk ticketing system and provide over-the-phone and in-person support related to all aspects of technology usage.
- Conduct account administration activities for the network and for enterprise applications and online services including adds moves and changes to user permissions access rights group membership and other account management needs.
- Provide technical support services for the IP telephony system and related components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve end-user problems with computers peripherals and networking devices.
- End User Devices and Peripherals: Provide installation configuration deployment and troubleshooting of end-user devices and peripherals including but not limited to the following:
- Install and configure computer hardware including desktops laptops and other mobile devices printers projectors and other peripheral devices.
- Install and configure internal components on end-user computers.
- Software and Applications: Provide installation configuration deployment and troubleshooting involving software and applications for end-users including but not limited to the following:
- Install and configure computer software including operating system software and applications for end-user computing devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues including installation/configuration problems drivers feature deployment and integration issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve end-user issues associated with accessing and using network resources and applications including SharePoint MS Office Integrated Library Systems Print Management Systems and other systems.
- Deploy operating system images for desktop and laptop computers and research and compile driver sets for hardware components in end-user devices.
- Network and Servers: Under direct supervision by an NSA provide setup configuration installation and support services involving networking and server components including but not limited to the following:
- Work with others on the IT team and coordinate with other departments to configure and install network components including cabling switches wireless access points and other network devices.
- Provide telephone system support including installation operation repair and maintenance on end-user telephone devices and telephony services.
- Perform diagnostic and initial troubleshooting activities on network connectivity issues involving workstations printers network switches wireless access points and other infrastructure comp
- Maintain and manage technology data including asset management site documentation configuration information and software to support installation maintenance and repair of computer systems.
- Work with and assist other technical staff members in system administration and implementation activities associated with KRLs server and technology environment.
- Coordinate technical support efforts with library staff.
- Follow up on recent technical issues to see that the customers needs have been met.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
