Your Role

As a Clinical Consultant you will be responsible for delivering clinical education and applications support to both potential and existing Philips Healthcare customers. This role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and is integral throughout the entire lifecycle of Philips Hospital & Ambulatory Monitoring (H&AM) equipment.

Your primary responsibilities will include partnering with Account Managers to provide pre-sale presentations and demonstrations supporting the sales process facilitating installations conducting post-sale training and offering ongoing application support. Whether your background is clinical or commercial your expertise will be highly valued in this dynamic customer-focused position. The role is both diverse and challenging allowing you to apply your clinical knowledge while building strong customer relationships and enhancing your professional skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Applications Training: Deliver high-quality clinical education and applications support; train customers in optimal clinical procedures and protocols for Philips H&AM equipment; retrain customers on new equipment releases or updates; develop and implement tailored application training schedules; provide comprehensive training materials; ensure compliance with safety and quality standards including health and radiation protection regulations.

  • Device Configuration: Configure and customize H&AM devices to meet clinical workflow and customer requirements. Ensure accurate setup seamless integration with hospital IT systems and compliance with regulatory standards while providing expert technical guidance during installation validation and optimization.

  • Clinical Education Events: Collaborate with the Clinical Applications Manager H&AM Business Line and Marketing team to initiate and implement educational events for the H&AM installation base.

  • Sales & Marketing Support: Support the sales process with product demonstrations and presentations; assist with lead identification tender submissions and product promotion at customer sites trade shows and educational events; relay customer feedback and product performance insights to the Account Manager and Field Service Engineer; communicate software bugs and product improvement suggestions to the H&AM BIU/Factory; maintain an accurate customer install database.

  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure all customers receive exceptional training and support; maintain prompt and effective communication; build and sustain strong relationships with customers including regular site visits and engagement with luminary sites.

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior Clinical Application Specialists through coaching feedback and knowledge sharing. Foster a collaborative high-performance culture that promotes innovation and continuous improvement while assisting with onboarding and partnering with management on training and team development.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Essential: Bachelors degree in nursing with 5 years minimum experience in a critical care background; experience working with patient monitoring equipment and diagnostic cardiology equipment.

  • Desirable: Understanding of customer needs and competitive landscape. Experience in clinical applications or device integration roles with proven expertise in H&AM solutions; previous experience in clinical training. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

  • Skills: Strong clinical knowledge and technical aptitude; excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; relationship-building abilities; capacity to work independently and collaboratively; strong organizational and time management skills; negotiation and interpersonal skills; self-motivation and attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint.

Key Relationships

  • External: Develop and maintain relationships with customers key decision makers key opinion leaders and professional bodies such as universities and government departments.

  • Internal: Collaborate with the clinical applications team Clinical Applications Manager Modality Sales Specialists District Managers Account Managers Marketing & Communications team Customer Support Engineers and other specialists within Philips Healthcare.

Key Challenges

  • Rapidly acquiring in-depth product knowledge including both new and legacy systems.

  • Managing extensive travel requirements.

  • Handling challenging customer situations.

  • Adapting to independent work and a large multinational organization.

  • Transitioning to a corporate environment and developing business acumen distinguishing between sales and educational demonstrations.

Youre the Right Fit If You Have:

  • A nursing or equivalent medical qualification with substantial clinical experience in Critical Care/ICU/ED/HDU/OT.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs analyze competitive activity and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

  • Experience developing and delivering educational presentations and training programs.

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively across the ANZ region.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the companys facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the companys main facilities generally at the customers or suppliers locations.
