HOPE has been a trusted provider of community services in Western Australia for over 120 years supporting people through alcohol and other drug services mental health justice and family and domestic violence programs. About the Role
Were looking for Residential Support Workers to join our Kununurra team in casual this rewarding position youll work within a team to provide a safe and respectful home environment for up to four young people at a time. Youll play an active part in helping them achieve personal goals meet bail conditions and make positive life choices through structured strengths-based programs.
Youll also help facilitate activities provide supervision support family visits and act as a positive role model while ensuring the home is clean welcoming and supportive.
Whats on Offer
- Casual roles based in Kununurra (ad-hoc shifts)
- Starting in January/February 2026
- Days afternoons nights and weekends may be required
- Hourly rate $48.31 super regional allowance

Youll Need
- Minimum Certificate III in Community Services Youth Work AOD or 1 years of relevant experience
- Experience working with young people particularly those with complex needs or challenging behaviours
- Confidence engaging with Aboriginal young people and understanding of cultural considerations
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to support meal preparation maintain a safe living space and facilitate recreational activities
- Computer literacy for documentation and reporting
- A strong commitment to working within professional boundaries
Desirable skills:
- Experience or training in trauma-informed care FASD or mental health first aid (or willingness to undertake training)
- Hobbies and practical skills to share with young people (e.g. cooking woodwork gardening)
- Knowledge of youth justice and social issues impacting young people
Mandatory clearances:
- Current National Police Check (within 3 months)
- Working With Children Check
- Current C or A class drivers license
- First Aid Certificate (we will assist with this if you dont have a valid cert)
- Department of Justice clearance (6 week process)
- Australian residency or valid working visa
