About the Role

Were looking for Residential Support Workers to join our Kununurra team in casual this rewarding position youll work within a team to provide a safe and respectful home environment for up to four young people at a time. Youll play an active part in helping them achieve personal goals meet bail conditions and make positive life choices through structured strengths-based programs.

Youll also help facilitate activities provide supervision support family visits and act as a positive role model while ensuring the home is clean welcoming and supportive.

Youll Need

• Minimum Certificate III in Community Services Youth Work AOD or 1 years of relevant experience
• Experience working with young people particularly those with complex needs or challenging behaviours
• Confidence engaging with Aboriginal young people and understanding of cultural considerations
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to support meal preparation maintain a safe living space and facilitate recreational activities
• Computer literacy for documentation and reporting
• A strong commitment to working within professional boundaries

Desirable skills:

• Experience or training in trauma-informed care FASD or mental health first aid (or willingness to undertake training)
• Hobbies and practical skills to share with young people (e.g. cooking woodwork gardening)
• Knowledge of youth justice and social issues impacting young people

Mandatory clearances:

• Current National Police Check (within 3 months)
• Working With Children Check
• Current C or A class drivers license
• First Aid Certificate (we will assist with this if you dont have a valid cert)
• Department of Justice clearance (6 week process)
• Australian residency or valid working visa
