This full-time position will be within the Deputy Director team focusing on our PR and Communications / Social Marketing.
This position is within the Health Promotion Team which is part of the Head of Office team. The PublicHealthDivision works across the council planand isresponsibleforproviding strategic leadership todeveloptheCouncilinto a local authoritythatactively promotes population be achievedbybeing able to visualise and describe what a healthy Birmingham looks like and then equip others to share our vision and take achieve this bychampioningtheimprovedhealth andwellbeingof all citizens but especiallythemostvulnerable.

Through the Covid Pandemic and beyond the Public Health Division has invested heavily in engagement and partnership working and demonstrated the importance of the Healthy Brum corporate brand for health improvement information dissemination as a trusted source for partners and citizens. The post continues to build on this learning and embed a formal matrix communication and PR function working between the Public Health division managed by the Head of Office and the Corporate Communications function accountable within the communication structure.
We are looking for a PR and Communications Support Officer who will be able to assist and work to the Senior Officer and to support the wider Public Health team here at Birmingham City Council. This role will report to the Senior Officer. The role focuses on the delivery of Public Health campaign across various channels. Birmingham has a growing reputation on an international stage for its role in responding to health inequalities and improving the lives of its citizens.
The team works with a wide range of stakeholders to improve health and wellbeing including internal directorates Integrated Care System NHS trusts the third sector and commissioned services.
