Lockheed Martins Missiles and Fire Control business is experiencing growth at our campus in Westford MA.
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Controls Microwave Center of Excellence is seeking to hire a Staff Component Engineer who will have the opportunity to join a team of highly competent engineering professionals involved in the design development and support of Digital and RF/Microwave Products.
The engineer will be responsible for ensuring the electrical components in the modules meet the highest reliability requirements as well as the product life cycle requirements.
Responsibilities include:
1. Researching component termination styles plastic encapsulation styles and component construction processes
2. Generation of Vendor Identification Drawings Source Control Drawings and Altered Item Drawings.
3. Lead component part standardization part selection
4. Process change notices in PTC windchill for Part Bill of Materials & maintaining the engineering BOM in accordance with LM processes.
5. Develop component qualification test plans and execute part qualifications with Test houses.
6. Develop component screenings for parts as directed by Parts Management Process plan.
7. Interface with customers to present part changes and impact to hardware.
8. Lead Component Failure Investigations as needed.
9. Participate in qualifying alternate test houses for part finish mitigations & part qualification.
10. Research and determine impact of PCNs and obsolescence on the programs.
11. Mentoring Junior engineers.
12. Review Parts in Siemens Expedition Library for approvals per PMP guidelines.
Basic Qualifications:
1. Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
2. Component Engineering Experience.
3. Good verbal and written communication skills.
4. Active secret preferred but willing to consider inactive clearance. Interim clearance required to start.
Desired skills:
1. 6 years experience with PTC windchill application for BOM maintenance
2. 6 years experience with Siemens Expedition Cockpit
3. 6 years experience with RF Component Selection
4. 6 years experience with Part qualification & Failure analysis
5. 6 years demonstrated knowledge of military standards & automotive electronics standards.
Work Schedule:
Worker will Telework < 50%
Contractor selected will be required to work 3 days on site with option to work 1 day remote.
Start date has option to move up if candidate is identified and selected early.
