Position Title: Web Design &E-Comm SME
Job Location: College Park MD
Duration: 24 Months
Job responsibilities
Conduct a structured needs assessment to determine the correct package (Pre-Venture Startup Existing Business) based on business stage and digital maturity.
Document business goals required features content assets page structure and branding requirements for each entrepreneur.
Design and build professional mobile-optimized website layouts with user-friendly navigation aligned to the entrepreneurs industry and business objectives.
Develop websites of 3 10 pages depending on the selected package tier (Home About Contact Services etc.).
Configure and deploy CMS platforms including WordPress Wix Squarespace or Shopify ensuring entrepreneurs can independently manage content after handoff.
Deliver CMS training and instructions so entrepreneurs can update pages upload media and maintain site structure without ongoing support.
Implement basic or advanced SEO features such as metadata title optimization alt tags indexing preferences and search visibility settings based on package scope.
Integrate Google Analytics or platform-level analytics to enable traffic behavior and business impact tracking.
For the Existing Business package configure end-to-end e-commerce functionality including:
Up to 10 product listings
Payment gateway setup
Secure checkout
Confirmation email automation
Test transactions prior to launch
Implement revision cycles (1 3 rounds depending on package) and incorporate client feedback into updated design drafts.
Conduct cross-device and cross-browser testing to ensure full compatibility and responsiveness before go-live.
Support launch activities publish the final website and provide documentation for ongoing maintenance.
Provide monthly status updates in UMDs NeoSerra CRM.
Mandatory Experience
Demonstrated portfolio of at least 3 completed websites.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in website design or website development
Hands-on experience developing mobile-responsive websites and custom-branded layouts.
Strong experience with CMS platforms including WordPress Wix Squarespace or Shopify.
Background implementing basic and advanced SEO metadata tags indexing settings and search optimization.
Experience with Google Analytics or platform-level analytics setup for traffic and impact tracking.
Prior experience building user-friendly navigation page layouts menus and content structures.
Experience configuring e-commerce components including product listings payment gateways secure checkout and order confirmation workflows.
Ability to conduct needs assessments planning workshops and requirements gathering with small business clients.
Experience preparing post-launch documentation client training materials and revision cycles.
Ability to guide non-technical users in understanding site maintenance and content updates.
Education & Certification
Bachelors degree in Web Design Computer Science Information Technology Digital Media Graphic Design or related field (Preferred)
Equivalent professional experience accepted
Certifications
