Position highlights: To champion the B portion of our district Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. To assist the Superintendent and/or his/her designee(s) substantially and effectively in the task of providing leadership in the areas of operations: custodial/maintenance transportation food service and school safety. Additionally this position will provide oversight and support to district secondary schools grades 6-12.
$125000 minimum salary. Final salary to be established by the Board of Education. Salary will be commensurate with both administrative experience and educational attainment. Two-year contract and twelve-month position with applicable health and life insurance annual vacation and paid leave allowance provided.
Assistant Superintendent of Operations
CLASSIFICATION: Certified exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Missouri Teachers certificate and administration certificate
- At least 5 years successful teaching experience and building level administrative experience required
- Central office experience preferred and doctorate degree preferred
- Other such qualifications as required by the Core Data Section of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: Superintendent or his/her designee

- Lead and provide oversight of district secondary schools 6-12

- Federal/state/local regulations (fire OSHA asbestos chemical use fire safety etc)
District Safety & Emergency Management
- Emergency plan development
- Training protocols and processes
- Work with local first responders to ensure awareness and consistency
- Specialized training for all district personnel as warranted and necessary
- Adherence to OSHA
Transportation
- Supervise Director of Transportation
- Local maintenance of routes/busses
- Supervise and provide oversight to district transportation contracted services
- Cost management for all district transportation needs
- Equipment management of district transportation to ensure fleet readiness
- Customer service
- Trip scheduling and structures
- Summer School (integrated)
Food Service
- Supervise Director of Food Services
- Employees contracted services and substitutes
- Safety regulations for all district food service personnel (federal/state/local)
- Federal meal program training (integrated)
Secondary Supervision of Schools Grades 6-12
- Assist and provide oversight and leadership to secondary administrators
- Be the point person for issues related to 6-12 secondary schools
- Establish routines and procedures for secondary schools to effectively meet the needs of all learners
- Supervise long-term suspension hearings
- Work alongside appropriate personnel to facilitate a positive learning and work environment for secondary staff and students
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: $125000 minimum salary. Final salary to be established by the Board of Education. Salary will be commensurate with both administrative experience and educational attainment. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of Central Office Administrative Personnel.
PHYSICAL MENTAL AND VISUAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand walk and sit. Additionally the employee may occasionally be required to push or lift up to 50 lbs as necessary for the safety and well-being of others. Lastly this job requires the employee to have the vision ability to read handwritten or typed materials and meet multiple demands from several people while interacting with other staff and the public.
