Job Summary
The Insurance Underwriting Team Leader will handle new quotes renewals and client-facing communication supporting brokers and ensuring all submissions are accurately prepared and sent to multiple markets. This role requires someone highly intelligent quick to learn detail oriented and capable of juggling many moving parts.
You will work closely with brokers vendors and in-office support staff ensuring a smooth professional underwriting process. This office operates with a team of full time women and a separate mens team so candidates should be comfortable working within that structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage underwriting workflow for new quotes renewals and prospects
- Shop each quote across 56 insurance markets (email phone software platforms)
- Communicate professionally with brokers to gather information and present intelligent well prepared submissions
- Maintain strong relationships with direct clients for renewals and new leads
- Review coverage needs pricing and market appetite
- Delegate appropriate tasks to office support staff
- Ensure accuracy organization and timely follow up on all accounts
- Learn processes quickly and maintain strong attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Minimum 23 years of professional office experience required
- Experience in property and casualty underwriting a strong plus
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and workflows simultaneously
- Detail oriented with sharp analytical ability
- Fast learner with strong problem solving skills
