The City of Berkeley is currently accepting applications forRecreation Coordinatorin our Parks Recreation and Waterfront Department! In this role you will have the opportunityto developdiverse equitable and inclusive programming within the Recreation Division.
The current vacant position will focus on targeted community outreach to low-socioeconomic status and scholarship-eligible participants and families. Work will involve developing and fostering community partnerships promoting programs through focused outreach and engagement and developing new recreation programming.
A typical way of gaining the knowledge skills and abilities for this position is:
Education
Equivalent to graduation from high school
AND
Experience
Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in recreation program planning and coordination which has included facility management which included one (1) year of lead level experience. Supervisory or program management experience is desirable. College level coursework in recreation physical education or a closely related field may be substituted for the experience outlined above on a year for year basis.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid California drivers license and have a satisfactory driving record. Must be willing to work evening or weekend hours.
