Doctor shortages are one of the biggest healthcare challenges in America today and as our Lead Data Scientist youll be directly working at Barton to solve it.

As our Lead Data Scientist you will work closely with Barton leadership to drive commercial growth for the organization by combining your advanced technical skills consulting and business acumen. This is a great role for someone who wants to thrive at the intersections of AI machine learning software development and business.

Your primary focus will be to drive commercial growth by helping Barton realize its digital worker and agentic AI agenda. Our company grew from nothing to one of the biggest locum tenens companies through human labor centric workflows and sheer force of will; to get to the next level we need to work differently and you can help by modernizing these workflows with AI agents and digital a word we need leverage.

Responsibilities

Drive the creation of AI powered agentic and automated solutions that modernize workflows
Partner with business leaders emphasis on Sales and Marketing to understand challenges and translate unstructured business problems into engineering problems to be addressed by automation agentification digital workers etc.
Lead discovery sessions and workshops to get at root causes pursuant to developing the right solutions to the right challenges
Leverage User Centric Design product-inspired approaches to Data Science to develop consumption layers that narrow the gap between tech and business
Collaborate with learning and development to develop training and other engagement sustaining capabilities to ensure problems stay solved
Conduct analytic research to identify opportunities causes and insights to drive growth
Mentor junior data scientists

Qualifications

Proven track record of automation or agentification with quantifiable results / ROI
6 to 10 years of professional experience in process automation predictive modeling data science machine learning
Experience with business process analysis operations research and similar concepts that bring an engineering perspective to businessHands on experience using LLMs in workflows e.g. API calls to chatGPT
Comfort and experience engaging with business peers and leaders this role will be expected to present to executives periodically
Comfort in both back office / heads down mode as well as front office / interpersonal mode in other words you not only like building capabilities you also like promoting teaching and explaining them to non-technical people

Preferences:

Management consulting experience
Experience with user-centric design app development and other related topics
Experience with or an interest in sales marketing commercial growth
Familiarity with healthcare and / or staffing
