Your Impact
We are seeking a committed and student-centered Occupational Therapist to join our Related Services team. Under the direction of the Occupational Therapy Department Head you will play a vital role in supporting students access engagement and independence across school environments. Through assessment intervention collaboration and creative problem-solving you will help students develop the sensory fine motor visual-motor self-care and vocational skills essential to their academic and social success.
This is a full-time 12-month positionthat follows the school-year calendar. Each school year includes:
- 181-day school year SeptemberJune MondayFriday 7:45 a.m.3:15 p.m.
- 23-day summer program JulyAugust MondayThursday 8:25 a.m.3:15 p.m.
- Participation in required trainings (e.g. Safety Care) and school community events such as Parent Open House
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct consultative and small-group occupational therapy services aligned with student IEPs.
- Observe and collaborate with classroom teams; model lessons co-teach and recommend developmentally appropriate activities.
- Develop monitor and document individualized goals and objectives.
- Conduct OT evaluations and contribute to IEP processes and progress reporting.
- Select and implement adaptive tools assistive technology and instructional supports.
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration with teachers related service providers and families.
- Participate in team meetings professional development and organizational initiatives.
What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
- Masters degree from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy program
(Bachelors accepted if earned before 2007) - Massachusetts Occupational Therapy License
- NBCOT certification
- Coursework and experience directly related to occupational therapy practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
- 13 years of school-based or pediatric experience
- Experience or coursework in areas such as Deaf Education Special Education Assistive Technology Pediatric Therapy or Early Childhood
- Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) or commitment to learning
- Interpreters are available and ASL classes are provided
