Description

Objective

To achieve its commercial and strategic goals Design Hotels must ensure that each region meets its revenue and profit targets. This role is essential in supporting the Head of Distribution Technology by managing daily operations within the department. Key responsibilities include leading and guiding the team overseeing daily workflows and collaborating with member hotels to ensure their inventory is accessible and accurately represented across all connected distribution channels. Our focus is on building mutually beneficial long-term relationships with our member hotels.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor Distribution Technology Coordinators and interns
  • Oversee distribution-related projects
  • Continuously optimize the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Distribution Technology department including Marriott channels
  • Facilitate system integration processes such as between properties and Design Hotels CRS (SynXis) as well as onward distribution into Marriott environment (such as MARSHA EPIC HPP MarRFP IMS etc.)
  • Review and enhance the internal ticketing system
  • Optimizes support processes and internal training to cope with increasing demand and operations of distribution systems and connected technology
  • Coordinate and prioritize distribution-related inquiries from member hotels through the departmental ticket system including allocation tickets to team members based on demand and expertise
  • Provide key account support
  • Serve as the primary contact for the team
  • Handle escalations from other departments

Operations

  • Oversee CRS management for member hotels using SynXis (Sabre) and MARSHA (Marriott)
  • Troubleshoot operational issues
  • Manage rates and content
  • Onboard new team members
  • Handle troubleshooting rate loading and connectivity management for PMS RMS CRS and OTA systems
  • Conduct system training for member hotels and new team members
  • Supervise and maintain the Distribution Technology Ticket System
  • Review and improve existing categories and rules
  • Manage user access for SynXis and MARSHA
  • Analyze service demand from member hotels
  • Provide Level 2 support for member hotels
  • Handle rate loading maintenance and troubleshooting in SynXis and MARSHA
  • Implement OTA solutions including rate loading testing and maintenance
  • Resolve distribution-related issues across all channels
  • Support all Marriott-related systems (MARSHA HPP Product Catalog IMS GXP BRG claims etc.)
  • Supervise property training sessions

Leadership

  • Main contact within Design Hotels teams for operational distribution matters
  • Creates vision clear direction and strategy for the direct supervised team members
  • Ensures successful processes and organizational structure of the team
  • Establishes manages and coaches team with clear objectives and performance expectations
  • Monitors and improves team efficiency effectiveness and impact
  • Creates an environment that values employees and encourages cooperation open communication and teamwork
  • Serves as a role model by demonstrating a commitment to company values high performance standards workplace diversity and driving results

Experience & Mindset Requirements

  • Operational and technical experience with SynXis
  • Operational and technical experience with MARSHA
  • Fluent in English; Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred
  • Solid understanding of revenue management and distribution markets (channels fiscalization market practices)
  • Familiarity with Revenue Management and Property Management Systems (preferably Opera Mews HMS/Infor though not mandatory)
  • Bachelors degree preferred with at least 3 years of work experience
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach
  • Ability to assess and optimize distribution performance and processes
  • Understanding of connectivity API integrations and third-party system interactions
  • Experience troubleshooting system issues and coordinating with technical teams/vendors
  • Experience supporting hotels or field teams with system onboarding issue resolution and training
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly guidance
