The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Public Health and Safety Division in Helena.
The Epidemiologist 2 is responsible for providing epidemiology support to the HIV STD and Viral hepatitis Section. Responsibilities of this position include but not limited to: Analyze HIV hepatitis C and sexually transmitted infection (STI) surveillance data such as risk factors demographics and geography; Develop and maintain quality assurance activities for HIV hepatitis and STI surveillance; Provide support in the implementation of HIV hepatitis C surveillance including Partner Services; Develop and conduct trainings for local and tribal health jurisdictions; Design and conduct program evaluations; Conduct HIV and hepatitis C surveillance case ascertainment investigation and follow-up; Maintain the statewide HIV data system and conduct data management activities.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
Knowledge of epidemiology principles and practices.
Ability to manipulate and analyze large complex data sets. Experience with SAS is preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills for a variety of audiences including public speaking.
Meet minimum qualifications:
Masters degree in Epidemiology Statistics Public Health or a closely related degree.
Three years of job-related experience in epidemiology.
Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
