POSITION: Sr. Project Engineer AME
Leads the engineering development of new manufacturing equipment products and processes by performing the following duties:
Identifies prepares and proposes new manufacturing equipment capital expenditure requests that include costs ROIs and timelines.
Plans organizes and leads large engineering projects from conceptualization to launch.
Confers with application engineering industrial controls manufacturing and outside integrators to ensure equipment requirements are met.
Prepares and adheres to project schedules and raises issues to meet project deadlines and takes necessary steps to resolve.
Conceptualizes designs and details key elements of new automated manufacturing equipment.
Monitors project expenditures within limitations of project budget.
Prepares or coordinates preparation of system layout detailed drawings 3D models and schematics and all other engineering documentation.
Develops project risk summaries and coordinates with project teams or outside integrators to mitigate risk.
Evaluates and approves design changes specification changes and drawing releases.
Provides technical support for existing processes and Mentors junior engineers
Process new part orders including designing of parts writing Master Data Sheets and designing and ordering of tooling.
Supervises engineers engineering technicians and model shop associates as required through the product launch process including new part quote new part set-up and prototype builds adhering to the appropriate product development tools as required (APQP CP DFMEA PFMEA etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Engineering or related technical degree.
Five plus years of experience scoping sourcing and implementing automotive manufacturing cells.
Experience in multiple functional areas preferred.
Demonstrated success in leading projects from concept to successful launch or implementation.
Demonstrated technical expertise in automated technology.
Working knowledge of industrial controls mechatronics and a basic understanding of PLCs.
Ten to Fifteen years in product or process development and experience using 3D CAD software for design is desired
GD&T & tolerance stack up analysis understanding
