We are currently seeking Healthcare Assistants for a leading Nursing Home in Dublin Ireland.
Support residents with personal care needs including washing toileting dressing undressing and all aspects of daily living ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
Assist with physical emotional and spiritual care requirements providing attention when needed while maintaining comfort dignity and respect.
Provide focused assistance to residents with limited mobility or physical/learning difficulties making effective use of available aids and equipment.
Observe and monitor residents who may be confused or present with behavioural needs reporting concerns promptly.
Promote continence and support residents with continence care as needed.
Assist in delivering end-of-life and palliative care including support with last offices under appropriate guidance.
Encourage participation in social activities by interacting with residents and supporting them to maintain hobbies and interests.
Respond promptly to the call system door and telephone offering assistance and passing on messages appropriately.
Report any changes in residents wellbeing to senior care staff following established procedures.
Conduct regular wellbeing checks at intervals determined by senior staff members.
Welcome visitors offering refreshments and assistance when required.
Make and change beds ensuring rooms are clean tidy and that waste (including commodes) is disposed of according to policy.
Use the Nursing Homes resources responsibly and appropriately.
Clean and maintain equipment such as wheelchairs hearing aids and spectacles ensuring the environment is kept clean and orderly.
If required care for and organise residents personal clothing and belongings ensuring all items are clearly labelled.
Maintain full privacy dignity and respect for residents who are at end-of-life and for the bereaved in accordance with company policy.
Support residents during mealtimes being mindful of dietary needs swallowing difficulties and nutritional requirements; assist with serving and clearing meals as needed.
Accompany residents on external appointments or social outings when required.
Uphold the highest standards of integrity in all interactions particularly regarding personal and financial matters ensuring professional boundaries are maintained at all times.
