The Team
Provincial Centralized Screening provides province-wide child protection screening services in a fast paced 24-7 rotating shift work environment. There are multiple teams of dedicated social services workers including Directors of Operations Team Leaders Child Protection Workers Support Workers and Social Program Officer Assistants. The services provided by Provincial Centralized Screening have a direct impact on the well-being of children youth and families throughout British Columbia.
The Role
This is a challenging and meaningful role for a fully qualified child protection worker with C6 delegation under the Child Family and Community Service Act. This is a great opportunity for experienced workers who enjoy a fast-paced shift work environment and want to make a difference in the lives of children youth and families throughout British Columbia.

About this Position:
There are multiple full time permanent and temporary positions available with Provincial Centralized Screening.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future permanent and temporary vacancies
Flexible work options: this position may be able to work up to three (3) days at home per week as per an approved Telework Agreement.
This position can be based at any location listed above. NOTE:Provincial Centralized Screening is a hybrid work setting; however staff must be able to work in-office on immediate notice if requested under the requirements of the Business Continuity Plan or when operationally required.
This position requires shift work. The shift patterns apply to a 24/7 schedule which includes daytime evening and weekend shifts. As per the relevant collective agreement provisions on paid holidays and dependent on schedules staff will earn hours toward additional addition there may be opportunities for overtime or alternatively compensatory time off.

Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
As per the BCGEU collective agreement for posted competitions an employee is ineligible for transfer or demotion from one geographic location to another within two years at the previous location. This restriction does not apply to redundant employees or to promotions.
