Job Summary

Position: School Climate Monitor

Reports to:Local Administration/ Dean of Students / Network Team

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (minimum)
  • Two years prior school experience; preferably with student discipline experience
  • School clearances
  • Must be proficient in the use of email Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel and Google Apps and other productivity applications like Dropbox and Evernote.
  • Respectful positive and appropriate in all parent student and staff interactions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervises and monitors the hallway during all class changes
  2. Escorts students room to room during lunches
  3. Works under the Assistant Principal and Dean of Students to support discipline and attendance during the school day.
  4. Assist at arrival/dismissal as needed.
  5. Assist with the clearance of the hallways and media center during all hours of school operation.
  6. Provide first level support for discipline in the classroom as directed by supervisor.
  7. Hand-out and support demerit level behavior as directed by supervisor.
  8. Assist with all uniform checks and violations as first level support for classroom teachers as directed by supervisor.
  9. All other responsibilities as applicable to hallway traffic and climate support for the school.
  10. Report all escalated behaviors to the Dean of Students or the proper administration available (Principal Assistant Principal).
  11. Ensures proper documentation is in place for discipline issues.
  12. Supports and participates in all positive behavior intervention and support initiatives and protocols.
  13. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Terms of Employment: Ten (10) months. Contract terms and salary to be determined by the Board of Trustees.

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of state law administrative code and the Boards policy on evaluation.
