We are looking for a special kind of person a St Vincents kind of person. Someone who puts compassion connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do.

As a Chef youll be part of an experienced engaged and dedicated team helping to create a welcoming professional and supportive care experience for the residents of St Vincents Care Services Werribee.

St Vincents Care Services Werribee is a contemporary boutique aged care facility providing a high-quality haven of care within the centrally-located Wyndham Health Precinct. It is an 80 bed facility located 30km south-west of Melbournes city centre.

This is a part-time position with scheduled shifts on Wednesday Thursday Saturday and Sunday. Availability on these days is essential.

Things that work for us:

  • High volume cooking experience

  • Flexibility to manage special dietary requirements

  • Ensure compliance with food safety hygiene standards

  • Trade qualification in Commercial cooking and experience in fine dining or Hotels (preferred)

  • Current FSS Certificate (Food Safety Supervisor)

  • Roster management and working within approved budget while the head chef is away

  • Be part of the leadership team in ensuring a superior dining service

  • Maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff

  • Previous experience in an aged care facility or bistro/hotel; ideally five years or more (desirable)

  • An ability to work a multidisciplinary team within a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to lead under pressure

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus with an ability to implement change and drive a strong team culture;

  • National Police Certificate

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check may be a requirement of this role.
