For our new PC project we are specifically looking for a designer with a love of roguelike games.
As a Game Designer at Chimera you will join a 14-person team working on our upcoming PC project a unique genre-blending experience combining roguelike RPG puzzle and tower defense elements.
The creative direction is set; now were looking for someone who can turn this vision into meaningful player moments systems that feel smart features that reward mastery and a game loop players return to because it stays fun and engaging.
You bring a genuine passion for roguelike design and a strong sense for systems and balancing. You will champion innovative feature development drive creative collaboration across the team and ensure that design vision gameplay mechanics and product quality consistently meet the highest standards.
This is aproject-based role (24 months)with real ownership in a focused highly collaborative environment.
Conceive and develop new gameplay features systems and content
Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation
Balance and fine-tune complex game mechanics across roguelike strategy and RPG elements
Conduct regular design reviews to ensure alignment with project goals and quality standards
Collaborate across disciplines to optimize implementation
Analyze player feedback and data to continuously refine the user experience
Be a passionate champion for your game!
At least one shipped PC or Console title with significant design contributions
Passion for strategy roguelike RPG or mechanics-driven games (you play and understand these genres not just in theory)
Proven ability to design balance and iterate complex gameplay systems
Excellent English-language documentation and communication skills (German is a plus)
Self-directed reliable and solution-oriented work approach
Availability for on-site work in Munich (hybrid model; full remote not possible)
