About the Role

As a key member of our Technical Services Team the Stability Technician plays a vital role in ensuring mine safety and supporting operational decision-making. Based on-site at the Hazelwood Rehabilitation Project you will maintain the integrity and effectiveness of geotechnical and hydrogeological monitoring systems enabling timely and informed assessments of mine conditions to uphold safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and execute a program of stability and hydrogeological monitoring (e.g. piezometers standpipes loggers pump bores inclinometers).
  • Inspect maintain and repair monitoring points and instruments as required.
  • Assist in planning designing and enhancing monitoring systems.
  • Manage stability data and databases to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Participate in audits and quality assurance checks of monitoring systems.
  • Download prepare and analyse data for geotechnical reporting and issue resolution.
  • Foster a strong safety culture and adhere to ENGIEs HS&E policies and procedures.

About You

  • Certificate IV in Engineering (desirable).
  • Practical understanding of stability monitoring systems with field-based geotechnical or hydrogeological experience.
  • Ability to maintain monitoring installations databases and data collection systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach.
  • Proven experience in mining or construction environments with a focus on safety.
  • Proficiency in data management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset.
