TheCourt Visitor Coordinatorwill serve three primary functions. 1)To assist the Compliance Officer/Court Visitor Administrator with the support oversight and mentoring of the court visitor contractors. 2) Coordinate the Court Visitor program and its administrative tasks and 3) Provide general support to the courts guardianship program including providing information and assistance to families and others navigating the adult guardianship field with the Guardianship Helpline.
The Court Visitor Coordinator will oversee daily case assignments ensuring the efficient processing of notices and records requests as well as monitoring caseloads and reviewing invoices. The Coordinator will also be responsible for processing travel and records payments and providing support to the Compliance Officer and CourtVisitor Administrator in managing Court Visitor contracts.
TheCourt Visitor Coordinator given the knowledge base about guardianship in Alaska will support the guardianship program as needed and assisting with the Guardianship Helpline assisting families and others with navigating the adult guardianship system. This may include phone calls and Zoom meetings on topics such as petitioning for guardianship annual reports access to the court and understanding the duties data collection outreach as well as teaching relevant court-sponsored classes.
Further duties will be assigned by the Guardianship Compliance Officer and Court Visitor Administrator which may include providing backup support for duties including but not limited to expert assignments or travel approval.
Knowledge of applicable guardianship/conservatorship statutes and rules as well as a solid understanding of guardianship and conservatorship case types.
Knowledge of the role the Court Visitor plays in an initial guardianship or conservatorship as well as the monitoring of existing orders.
Knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping with ability to interpret when reviewing annual or three-year reports inform guardians and others of gaps or mistakes and train others on red flags or proper accounting.
Familiarity of current issues and regulations related to guardianship and conservatorship for various populations and ages including less restrictive options or utilizing limited orders.
Ability to read understand interpret apply and explain the statues and rules pertaining to guardianship and conservatorship.
Ability to conduct oneself in a fair courteous and efficient manner.
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and written.
