Software developer data processing pipelines
Unleash your potential
You will become part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining the data processing pipelines for the International LOFAR telescope. This team brings together the expertise in the radio astronomical community around the LOFAR telescope and ASTRONs High-Performance Computing (HPC) team to create efficient and operational this role you will play a key part in improving and extending these pipelines by implementing new functionality enhancing code quality and ensuring software reliability. This position provides ample opportunity to deepen and hone your software development skills and ultimately take ownership of one or more scientific pipelines.

A temporary appointment of two years in the service of the Netherlands Foundation of Scientific Research Institutes (NWO-I). Depending on financial resources the contract may be extended hereafter for another year.
A gross monthly salary in the range of 3.630 to 6.722 (full-time salary) based on relevant experience an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.33% year-end bonus
42 vacation days per year on a full-time basis.
Job requirements
Calling all talented software developers who:
Have a background in (astro)physics or a related field (MSc or PhD).
Are experienced in Python and software development practices.
Enjoy working in teams and collaborating across disciplines.
Have significant demonstrable experience with scientific data processing.
Ideally also have:
C expertise
Experience with distributed computing on HPC clusters
DevOps experience
