Job Summary
BABBAGE Consultants is a 100% New Zealand-owned multi-disciplinary practice offering tailored
consultancy services across Architecture Engineering Land Development and Project Management.
BABBAGE Geotechnical is expanding in Hamilton. We are looking for an experienced person to join our newly established team in this location.
PRIMARY ACTIVITIES:
- Plan and supervise geotechnical investigations.
- Prepare site-investigation and other geotechnical reports for review.
- Schedule and review geotechnical laboratory testing analyse test results.
- Assist with the development of solutions to a range of geotechnical engineering problems.
- Undertake geotechnical engineering designs and prepare construction and or contract documentation as appropriate.
- Assist with management of QA for earthworks construction monitoring and associated liaison with clients contractors and regulators
- Manage field work undertaken by others as appropriate and undertake quality assurance for the completed work.
- Manage assigned geotechnical projects and take responsibility for delivery on time and within budget.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
A thorough understanding of Civil and Geotechnical Engineering project operations and a good understanding of Geology with wide experience in both the technical and practical aspects of geotechnical investigations geological mapping the interpretation of test data analysis and preparation of geotechnical reports and design solutions.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:
- An engineering degree in geotechnical engineering (BE or BSc (Eng)) geology or engineering geology
- A commitment to continuing professional development
- An ability to prioritise manage workflows and work independently
