Job Description:

Reporting to the Vice President Head of TD Insurance Platform this role is accountable for delivering on the refreshed General Insurance growth acceleration strategy strategic initiatives regulatory initiatives technical roadmap/strategy for the Policy Center and Billing Center across both personal and commercial lines. This role will be the end-to-end lead for all technology solutions including a large strategic transformation initiative.

  • Act as the single point of engagement for technology and own the technology vision roadmap and tech definition in the TD Insurance Policy Center and Billing Center
  • Facilitate decisions with respect to Technology Delivery and potential options & risks which will have downstream impact on operational costs solution resiliency and scalability.
  • Lead the creation and delivery of end to end technical solutions and oversee/support multiple specialized and functional teams.
  • Participate in business planning discussion and define the technology delivery approach including cross applications / team integration and/or release co-ordination
  • Identify opportunities to minimize any negative cost impact and reduce delivery/operational costs of technology
  • Lead planning in driving technology target state model and roadmap-based technology investments
  • Ensure strong communication stakeholder / partner management and vendor relationships are maintained to ensure successful delivery of technology solutions
  • Liaise with internal cross functional technology partners in delivery and improvement of services
  • Ensure programs/initiatives related to security activities are well managed and administered; ensure the prompt and thorough resolution of issues
  • Provide coaching and overall team leadership for team members and provide regular input into team members assessment of performance
  • Grow team expertise to align with business/enterprise demand and direction; assess team skills and capabilities and continually look for ways to provide and enhance the value delivered
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business unit and/or team
  • Support team in staying knowledgeable on emerging issues trends and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the Bank
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
  • May develop and/or contribute to negotiations of third-party contracts/agreements

Experience

  • Guidewire/Technical: Experience: 10 years of experience working with Guidewire Policy Center or InsuranceSuite including experience in system architecture configuration and integration.
  • Strong understanding of the Guidewire platform including Guidewire Studio and development using Gosu Java or similar programming languages. Familiarity with integration methods (APIs web services) and data migration in Guidewire
  • Leadership: Proven experience leading large teams and initiatives with strong skills in coaching performance management and team development
  • Delivery: Proven track record delivering larger initiatives and/or executing within a larger portfolio
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education / Certifications

  • Preferred: Guidewire certification(s) in Policy Center or other relevant Guidewire modules
  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • Graduate degree preferred
  • 15 preferred years of development and technology delivery experience with Agile Delivery Experience preferred
