AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rolling Stock Expert - Mechanical to lead and manage rolling stock-related activities for metro rail projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design procurement testing commissioning and maintenance of mechanical systems in rolling stock. This role requires in-depth technical expertise leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful delivery of rolling stock systems.
Job Duties:
- Lead the review and approval of mechanical designs for rolling stock ensuring compliance with project specifications standards and operational requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend design improvements to enhance performance reliability and safety.
- Assist in the preparation of technical specifications for rolling stock procurement.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and provide technical recommendations for supplier selection.
- Coordinate with rolling stock manufacturers to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Oversee the testing and commissioning of rolling stock mechanical systems including propulsion braking HVAC and auxiliary systems.
- Ensure integration of rolling stock with other metro systems such as signaling track and power supply.
- Identify and resolve technical issues during testing and commissioning phases
- Ensure all rolling stock activities comply with relevant codes standards and project specifications (e.g. EN IEC ISO).
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the reliability and safety of rolling stock systems.
- Provide technical expertise during the initial operation and maintenance phases of rolling stock.
- Develop maintenance strategies and schedules to ensure optimal performance and longevity of rolling stock systems.
- Work closely with project teams contractors and consultants to ensure seamless execution of rolling stock activities.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to address technical queries and provide updates on progress.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Additional Information :
- A minimum of 15 years of total experience in engineering roles.
- At least 5 years of direct experience in metro rail projects with a focus on rolling stock systems.
- Proven expertise in the design procurement testing and commissioning of rolling stock mechanical systems.
