Job Summary

This project is based in the Australian Centre for Precision Health and Technology (PRECISE) within Griffith Universitys School of Allied Health Sport and Social Work. Our research group Exercise and Integrative Physiology focuses on investigating the utilisation of personalised therapeutic strategies using innovative and integrative approaches to improve physical health and wellbeing in people with chronic heart and lung conditions. Our research program considers cardiorespiratory diseases as systemic conditions affecting all steps in the metabolic or energy cascade from oxygen transport via the lung to tissues through to substrate mobilisation and metabolism in skeletal muscle.  Our approach is to apply novel as well as established adaptative drivers such as exercise training and controlled exposures to environmental extremes (altitude and heat training) to enhance physical function quality of life and resilience to environmental stressors.

Our research program is funded through the NHMRC MRFF and The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) Foundation. Our research is undertaken in both laboratory and clinical settings.
