JOB BRIEF

We are looking for a qualified computer technician to assist in the day-to-day maintenance of student and teacher laptops teacher desktops and other district hardware and software. This position will involve working in several capacities throughout the day including but not limited to staffing a school service desk providing tier-1 response to technology incidents delivering end-user education for teachers and students at a school level and working alone or with other technicians to complete school or district initiatives as needed or assigned. This position is the face of the technology department to Coulter Grove/Maryville High School Teachers and the first point of contact for technology assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Demonstrated knowledge of information system hardware and software troubleshooting skills and problem resolution.
2. Ability and willingness to learn new systems and technology.
3. Demonstrated ability in handling confidential matters in an ethical manner.
4. Sound organizational skills and ability to recognize and change work priorities in a timely fashion.
5. Must pass a thorough background check and screening.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Associates Degree in related technical field OR A Certification OR equivalent training and experience.
2. Experience working in academic institutions preferably K-12 education.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Technology Principal of Coulter Grove Intermediate School and Principal of Maryville High School

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The technician will be responsible for maintaining network workstation and peripheral operating systems hardware and software applications. The computer technician will also be responsible for installing network operating systems hardware and software applications or assisting others in same. The job demands the ability to bend and lift crouch kneel and walk in order to perform essential functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS;

1. Provide support to end users through their requests for services by troubleshooting site hardware software and wiring problems.
2. Monitor ticketing system for service requests and maintain incident documentation on tickets and sorting or elevating tickets to the appropriate parties.
3. Provide technical support to school personnel.
4. Troubleshoot interactive whiteboards and projectors.
5. Provide basic training on the care and operation of district computer equipment as needed.
6. Assist district personnel in the annual repair cleaning and preventive maintenance of district computer equipment.
7. Set up install and maintain district computer systems.
8. Set up install and maintain computer peripherals and their related software.
9. In addition to extensive knowledge of PC systems and laptops Windows and Microsoft Office platforms must also be able to troubleshoot problems with Apple iPads and Mac desktop stations.
10. Perform repair of computer hardware printers and peripherals including acquisition of parts and maintaining service related records.
11. Provide support to the network administrator by being able to backup/restore files on the network shut down and or reboot servers perform basic administration tasks on user accounts while maintaining integrity and network security.
12. Provide input as needed for school technology planning and network operations.

OTHER FUNCTIONS;

1. Maintain current knowledge base and skills for latest and trending technology applications.
2. Promote a positive image of the District and IT Department at all times.
3. Participate in school district or administrative meetings as necessary.
4. Operate in coordination with Director of Technology Network Administrator Head Technician and other computer technicians as well as Coulter Grove/Maryville High School Administration.
5. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by Director of Schools Assistant Director of Schools Coulter Grove/Maryville High School Administration or Technology Department Leadership.
