About this Job
The mission of the Secretary of States office is to serve the public by meeting its legal responsibilities of collecting securing and communicating information that enhances commerce ensures the integrity of Louisianas elections and preserves presents and makes accessible government information essential to Louisianas operations and its recorded history.
The Elections Integrity Unit is seeking an Elections Compliance Officer 3 to assist in conducting criminal investigations regarding elections as well as providing administrative and/or support functions for the EIU.
Minimum Qualifications
Six years of experience in investigations as a commissioned law enforcement officer; OR
A bachelors degree in criminal justice or law enforcement plus three years of experience in investigations as a commissioned law enforcement officer.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
An applicant will be disqualified if he or she has been convicted of a felony or if there are any indictments or bills of information pending against him or her in which felony charges are included; or if he or she has been convicted within the past three years of hit and run or driving while intoxicated.
Possession of a current Louisiana drivers license.
Possession of an active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Supervise lower level Officers
- Review the work of subordinates regarding quality and accuracy of investigations
- Serves as the Training Coordinator for EIU and POST recertification coordinator
- Oversees equipment from purchasing to surplus
- Investigates election related violations
- Responds to notifications/complaints from ROVs COCs private citizens etc
- Maintain/Update EIU policies and procedures
- Works to review the Election Code annually for updates or revisions
