Job Summary
Trustbridge Hospice a part of Empath Health is seeking a dependable and customer service oriented Cook to join our team in Boca Raton.
This is a full-time position. Hours of Operation: 6:30a-3:00p 9:30a-6:00p or 11:00a-7:30p and may include at least one weekend day on an ongoing basis.
Since 1978 Trustbridge Hospice has cared for more than 200000 South Florida families. As a community-based nonprofit we provide 24/7 hospice and palliative care along with caregiver support and bereavement services for families facing serious illness.
What youll Do
- Prepare food according to standardized recipes as outlined on the food production program plans and coordinates cooking schedules prepares and serves meals for special functions and maintains a clean and orderly kitchen and dining room.
- Provides dining services to patients and guests while maintaining and exceeding hospitality and service standards.
- Promote and follow all dietary policies and procedures in the Care Centers to ensure safe food practices.
- The Cook will be responsible for assignment of tasks/duties for staff present during shift. The Cook will communicate kitchen staffs performance successes/issues to Dietary Supervisor.

What Youll Need
- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of successful experience in a hospital nursing home governmental or school facility food service program or successful completion of a formalized technical education or other food service class.
- Desire to work with Hospice patients.
- Ability to provide dishwashing services and assist in providing dining services which meet or exceed hospitality and service standards.
- Ability to read and follow instructions to meet needs of kitchen services and cleaning.
