Job Overview
Brings value to Japan by working with client groups to understand country needs. Must be a credible partner skilled at communicating to various levels of the organization. May also be responsible for the people activities in compliance with local labor legislation.
Responsibilities / Duties
- Provides HR support across multiple sites for M&E functions in Japan
- Responsible to manage union related activities and LR/ER issue in the country
- Partners with leaders to deliver people priorities aligned to function people strategy
- Advise People leader to ensure people agenda is aligned with employee and local labor relations
- Applies and advises on relevant local law and regulations related to employee and labor relations.
- May also fulfill local Labor compliance work that is not be delivered from centralized HR Services team
- Provides feedback to HR Services regarding local implementation employee/labor relationship issues
- Resolves complex problems by applying in-depth conceptual and working knowledge of HR partner processes and has at least intermediate knowledge of all other HR disciplines
- Leads projects and/or steps of projects with manageable risks and resource requirements
- Understands best practices and how HR processes relates to others
- May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements
- Serves as resource for less experienced colleagues
- Explains difficult or sensitive information and handles sensitive people issues
- Works to build consensus
- Analyzes and resolves complex problems
- Examines information from multiple sources and uses judgement to evaluate established and new solutions
- Performance impacts a range of clients projects or activities within own team and other related teams
- Collaborates with multiple HR colleagues in and outside of Japan
Qualifications:
- 8 years Experience working at management level within HR ideally in an HR business partner role
- Strong customer focus and employee experience mindset
- Business and financial acumen
- Strong relationship partnership and consultancy skills
- Comfortable pushing difficult perspectives challenging and influencing
- Deep understanding of the organization climate and interventions that create great employee experience
- Have knowledge in Japan Employment Regulation
- Excellent written and verbal skills
