Job Summary

About The Team

The Technical Services team provides comprehensive support across various disciplines within the Colleges and some functions within the Academy and research areas. This multi-skilled digitally capable team is responsible for operating and maintaining undergraduate and postgraduate teaching laboratories as well as preparing developing designing and constructing experiments. By delivering specialised technical operational project and support services to academics and researchers the team plays a crucial role in achieving the universitys core goals of excellence in education research and engagement. Whether supporting teaching research or external engagement activities the team ensures that the technical requirements of the University community are met efficiently and effectively.

Your New Role!

This position is responsible for the effective delivery of teaching and research technical services for the Nursing spaces and to provide general technical support to the Health and Education disciplines.

Your key responsibilities will include

  • Coordinate technical operations in Nursing as well as other Health & Education spaces including setup for classes equipment maintenance and stock control.
  • Ensure compliance and collaboration supporting health and safety University policies working closely with academic staff and technical teams.
  • Contribute to student experience and University values by providing event support promoting equity and diversity and participating in committees and projects.

What youll bring to the role:

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant area or similar with subsequent relevant experience.
  • Significant experience in Nursing and/ or applied/basic science support.
  • Experience in and knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety specifically relating to a Nursing support area and other discipline areas in the College.
  • Demonstrated high level of organisational time and workload management skills including the ability to prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative assume responsibility for tasks and projects and to resolve problems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and flexibility to undertake a diverse range of tasks with minimal supervision.
