Job Summary
North Valley Academy is a public charter school serving grades K-8. NVA is committed to providing all students with a rich and well-balanced education through a rigorous focus on Mathematics Language Arts with an emphasis on Health and Wellness. Located in the beautiful Village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque NVA is hiring for the following certified position for the 2025-26 school year: First Grade Teacher
We are seeking a dedicated educator to join our team inspiring young learners in their formative years. The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing engaging classroom environment helping students develop foundational skills and a lifelong love for learning. You will collaborate with other educators and communicate effectively with parents ensuring that each childs educational journey is positive and productive.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and evaluate students progress and provide feedback.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students growth.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance educational programs.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Elementary Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification for the state
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create an engaging and supportive classroom environment
- Capability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
- Proficiency in using technology and educational tools to enhance learning
- Proven experience in teaching or assisting with first-grade level students (Preferred)
