A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HEAVY TRUCK DRIVER
As a Heavy Truck Driver you play a critical role in helping us successfully complete infrastructure projects including highways bridges airports and site work. You are drive a tractor-trailer combination truck or a truck with a capacity of at least 26000 pounds GVW. Using problem solving abilities and with strict attention to detail you operate vehicles and heavy machinery with precision keeping up with the fast flow of construction operations. Day-to-day responsibilities may include delivering finished goods product and materials to customers loading/unloading materials maneuvering vehicles meeting assigned schedules and deadlines maintaining signed invoices and other paperwork facilitating routing services and obeying traffic addition to the average construction responsibilities you prioritize the safety of yourself your colleagues and the general public.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) A & DOT medical card are required. Tanker & airbrake endorsements are strongly preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience in the heavy construction industry is strongly desired.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Hoisting Engineers License (1C & 2A)
- Must have or be able to obtain OSHA 10 certification. OSHA 30 is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background (driving abstract) and drug testing as required by federal and/or state regulations. CORI background check may be required for certain job sites.

HEAVY TRUCK DRIVER WORK SCHEDULE
Our peak construction periods are typically in the Spring and Fall. Work is dependent on project-based needs however a majority of our employees work 40 hours during peak periods and as needed during off seasons. Typical work days during peak periods begin around 6:30 am and finished by 5:00 pm. Occasional travel to islands and night work may occur.
