System Development Manager-III, Amazon Pay

You will be influential within your team and work with peers and senior leaders to define and revise the standards for operational excellence across Amazon pay. You will consistently tackle abstract issues that span multiple functional areas and drive your team to push for improvements that can scale across other teams services and platforms. Wed love it if you bring in a deep understanding of modern Cloud infrastructure programming expertise operational experience and a desire to change the status quo. Were looking for an engineer who can analyze and help improve our monitoring and processes to get us to an even higher level of availability scalability and reliability. You will be working on security initiatives and are responsible to drive and implement solutions from security perspective including but not limited to building tools implementation of strategic initiatives within engineering teams driving and governance of security processes.

You establish a roadmap and successfully deliver partnering effectively with customers and stakeholders

Your team has an effective engineering process and consistently delivers results with minimal defects and disruption.
You communicate ideas effectively both verbally and in writing to all types of audiences.
You work successfully with customers leaders and other engineering teams.
You define metrics to measure team progress customer experience solution quality and operational excellence.
Your team has customer engagement mechanisms adheres to SLAs and effectively manages operations.

- 3 years of systems engineering and operations leadership for an Internet service or leading edge IT organization experience
- 5 years of managing system or software development teams experience
- 7 years of relevant hands-on systems engineering and administrative work in networking storage systems operating systems experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field
- Experience in systems engineering and operations leadership for an Internet service or leading-edge IT organization
- Experience in managing system or software development teams
- Experience (hands-on) in systems engineering and administrative work in networking storage systems and operating systems
- Experience in agile software development methodology

- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle including coding standards software architectures code reviews source control management continuous deployments testing and operational excellence
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking storage operating systems)
- Experience with Agile engineering practices (Kanban continuous delivery etc.)
- Experience with AWS platforms services and design patterns
