Job Summary

Position: Supervisor of Maintenance

Location: Auxiliary Services Center

Reports To: Director of Maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Licensures or credentials within the scope of facility and maintenance preferred. (for example: electrical contractor mechanical contractor etc.)
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple facilities or large facilities for at least five years.
  • Excellent organizational written verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints interpret technical manuals and manage a departmental budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students staff administration parents community and the Board of Education.
  • Valid state drivers license required.
  • Ability to work a shifted schedule (for example 10 A.M. 6:30 P.M.)
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work including lifting up to 50 pounds bending standing and walking for extended periods both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of building systems including but not limited to plumbing electrical audio-visual HVAC carpentry and low voltage systems.
  • Manage and direct auxiliary service functions to maintain secure and protect District assets.
  • Manage the work order system prioritizing tasks and allocating resources effectively.
  • Manage District employees and contractors and evaluate work performed.
  • Support/manage internal facility improvement projects.
  • Review prints and design specifications to provide input regarding products materials district standards and preferences.
  • Coordinate work and liaison with construction management architectural design civil engineering and other third-party partners and consultants.
  • Acquire and maintain District equipment.
  • Assist in the formulation of departmental budgets and capital outlay requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining the security of District buildings.
  • Responsible for compliance with federal state and local regulations related to auxiliary service functions including reporting and record keeping compliance.
  • Manage preventative maintenance program for facilities and equipment.
  • Coordinate and/or implement inspections as needed including but not limited to safety environmental and equipment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and positively with students staff and the community during the execution of daily duties.
  • Assist in the creation of medium and long-range plans for facility maintenance and improvements.
  • Assist in the formation and implementation of staff development and recruitment plans.
  • Assist with managing district events.
  • Respond to and address building emergency issues during and after business hours as needed.
  • Conduct on-call duties in rotation with other staff members.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
