The International Student Ambassador serves as a key member of the LCC International Programs Office supporting various functions. The Ambassadors primary responsibility includes international marketing and recruitment and campus internationalization. The Ambassador will report to the Director of International Programs.

Schedule
This position is five hours per week during the academic quarter. Working hours will occur during campus business hours (Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm) and will be scheduled around your student class and co-curricular schedule. This position will start in Winter 2026. Based on mutual agreement this position may be extended through Spring 2026

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create marketing materials and shareable assets such as flyers brochures and media content.
  • Co-create and manage social media content including posts videos and reels.
  • Write blog posts in English and in native language(s) documenting international student life.
  • Collaborate with the Director and peer Ambassadors for topic ideas and schedule.
  • Share your international student experience in quarterly webinars with the Director.
  • Support campus internationalization efforts including International Education Week.
  • Engage in student activities and support peers with cultural adjustment and extracurricular activities. Contribute to the offices operations and perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

  • Must be a current international student enrolled at Lower Columbia College.
  • Strong oral written and interpersonal communication skills in English.
  • Comfortable engaging with peers and talking to members of the LCC campus community.
  • Self-starter with motivation energy flexibility and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with marketing recruitment or digital design.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram or and similar platforms.
  • Familiarity or a willingness to learn design tools such as Canva Adobe Photoshop or similar.
  • Proficiency in more than one language.
  • Previous experience working in an office or administrative environment
